Miguel Herrera remains confident on his National Team

Mexico manager Miguel Herrera remains confident that the national team will be able to make a huge impact at the Copa America.

The chances of Mexico being regarded as one of the title winners are extremely low largely because the national team will be without a number of top players due to the CONCACAF's Gold Cup. This tournament will take place in July and most of the European-based players in the Mexican national team will be involved in this tournament as well. Due to the clashes of interest, it is likely that Herrera will have a depleted squad at his disposal.

Herrera’s stock within the national team cannot be higher after a brilliant campaign with Mexico at the World Cup. The national team almost managed to spring a surprise and reach the last few stages of the tournament.Herrera will have to repeat the feat once again if Mexico are to overcome the memories of the last Copa America. When the tournament took place back in 2011, Mexico were unable to progress even past the group stages and came away after failing to take even a single point.Herrera is confident there will not be a repeat of the same this time around.

"This group is put together to reach the final. We'll give a few teams a scare and we'll be a different team than we were in the last edition. Raul has struggled. He's young, but he's grown a lot and he finished [the season] really well. [Diego] Simeone told us that most likely he'll continue at Atletico Madrid," said the Mexican national team manager about the chances at the Copa America 2015 and the lack of playing time for Raul Jimenez at Atletico Madrid. Mexico were recently involved in a 2-0 defeat against Brazil in a friendly.
