Wolverhampton Wanderers striker Raul Jimenez is being rumored to be actively pursuing a career away from the West Midland. The Mexico international has had stints at Atletico Madrid and is believed to be favoring a return to Spain above every other option out there.
After trying out his hand at Atletico, the presence of much established strikers made it impossible to become Diego Simeone’s number choice as striker. Benfica was the Mexican forward’s next stop but even the Iberians felt he didn’t align with how they wanted to play and what they expect from him as a striker. A loan to Wolves was the best deal they could come up with and after being impressed with what they saw, the powers that be decided to make his loan spell a permanent deal.
He remains an integral part of the team and news of his imminent departure has brought a little of anxiety into the West Midlands.
Espirito Santo, Wolves’ coach has however urged everyone to calm down as no club has yet contacted them officially.

Southampton has suffered from constant poaching of their most valued assets, that didn’t stop them from figuring out a way to survive such situations. Mane, Van Dijk, Lovren all left for Liverpool but the Saints still went on their business surviving every season.
With Wolverhampton sitting 6th on the EPL, majority of what got them there were down to Jimenez’s goal. The Mexican was also responsible for their respectable finish last year.
It is only a matter of time before he leaves.
