REVIEW: BREAKING DOWN DARLINGTON NAGBE'S ALL-STAR NUMBERS
On Wednesday night, Darlington Nagbe will represent the Columbus Crew in the 2022 MLS All-Star Game, presented by Target. Nagbe will be part of the league’s elite 26-man roster that’ll face the Liga MX All-Stars. Let’s take a look at Nagbe’s All-Star stats: 2 – Nagbe, who is in his third season with the Black and Gold, was previously named an All-Star in 2016. He’s the only 2022 MLS All-Star who has won three MLS Cups – and all three with different clubs (Portland Timbers, Atlanta United, and Columbus Crew)
25 – Nagbe is the 25th Crew player in Club history to represent Columbus in the All-Star Game. The last was Lucas Zelarayán in 2021.
He has played 6,158 minutes of regular-season action over that span while completing 3,370 of his 3,594 attempted passes.
12 – Nagbe is tied with fellow teammate Jonathan Mensah for the 12th-most completed passes in MLS this season. Both have completed 1,099 passes to date. Nagbe’s pass completion rate is exactly 4% higher, though. 100 – The recently-turned 32-year-old has one match this season in which he completed every pass: Week 2 at San Jose. The midfielder completed all 45 of his passes.
51.4 – That’s how many passes Nagbe is completing per game. 90.6% – Anyone completing 90% of their passes anywhere on the field should feel accomplished. For Nagbe, that’s his rating in the opponent’s half. When he’s in Crew territory, his accuracy jumps to 94.4%.
3 – In 24 games this season, Nagbe already has three goals, which is tied for his best scoring output since 2017 with the Portland Timbers.
