TOUGH GROUP

Body:

The Mexican National team manager José Manuel de la Torre has said that he is extremely confident that the team can be successful at the 2013 confederations cup that will take place in the summer. Mexico have been recently grouped alongside Brazil, Italy, and Japan.

This makes them outsiders to get past the group due to the presence of the hosts Brazil and the 2006 World Cup winners Italy. However, the recent good run of form experienced by the national team will help them do well at this tournament. José Manuel de la Torre has said that they have a tough job on their hands, but they can come through it.

Mexico can have reasons to be confident ahead of this tournament because they have recently beaten Brazil on two occasions, while they also remain unbeaten in four encounters suffering the 1-0 defeat at the hands of the United States. The presence of players like Javier Hernandez has made a lot of difference to the team. They are at the peak of their careers and Torre expects them to be the star of the show at the 2013 Confederations cup that will start with the match between Brazil and Japan on June 15.

"It will be a great opportunity. We have every intention of passing through the group phase and we think of winning the title. We have this very clear in our minds. It will be good to have Italy, Japan and Mexico in our group because these matches will allow us to make good observations about our team.We hope to have the squad ready and to be competitive during the tournament so we can start making observations for the World Cup," said Torre. Brazil have a new coach in the form of their former manager Luiz Felipe Scolari.
